REMIGRANT.ru is an internet portal providing information for Russians
living outside the Russian Federation, especially those in Germany who
would like to live and work in their motherland Russia. REMIGRANT was
created by the same named association – registered in Austria, Vienna
in may 2007.
Main Goals
- Encouraging expatriates with high qualifications, living abroad, to return back to Russia
- Another
aim is providing expatriates who wish to return back to Russia, with
sufficient information (including consultation on juridical issues). In
accordance, it is the aim to maintain a constant update of the internet
site with current information and guidelines.
- Collaboration with Russian ministries, federal organs and a variety of companies.
- Consolidation of people with federal organs in Russia, in order to achieve an effect support with migration
The Idea behind
Over the last few years, there has been a recognisable tendency among
Russians in Europe to return to their country of origin. It is not a
massive migration, yet the demand is rising slightly and constantly.
There are several reasons for our compatriots to return to Russia. We
acknowledge these reasons and in accordance assist in preparing these
migrants as much as possible for their resettlement. Therefore, we
publish and constantly update detailed information concerning many
issues about resettlement, on our internet site.
It is to mention that a slower increase in economic growth in western
and central Europe, does affect immigrants living there, hardly. In
contrast, Russia with its rising economy creates more potential for
Russian qualified people living abroad. Also, there is an observed
tendency that more and more Russians prefer to work for Russia’s
benefits. We have the great opportunity to assist Russian people who
gained recognisable knowledge skills and working experience abroad, to
resettle them to their country of origin – Russia. In synthesis with
their patriotic attitude and their high working skills, the workers and
the Russian society will benefit from it.
In January 2007, a new law came into effect in Russia which supports
and focuses on people living outside of the Russian Federation who
would like to return to Russia. The registered association Remigrant
e.V. is highly proud to support this domestic program from abroad by
acting as a mediator between two demanding sides. It is consulting and
informing the citizens living abroad and giving Russia its highly
qualified citizens back.
Currently, there is a high demand of a source of information about the
resettlement, among expatriates The Russian federal program is still in
progress of developing and cannot serve with much detailed information.
However, through research REMIGRANT collected all information and data
available and published it neatly on Remigrant.ru. One can find a whole
package of official forms, regulations and contact details of
ministries.
Concept
The goal and driving force is to mediate among the demands of
expatriates and the Russian economy. Therefore it is crucial to manage
information wisely and make it available for the target group.
A special interest is the search of a qualified Russian labour force
among domestic and foreign companies in Russia. Therefore, REMIGRANT
facilitates this search by mediating between companies and citizens. It
publishes available jobs for several Russian states in the internet.
Therefore, REMIGRANT acts as an employment agency. It collects
curriculum vitae and tries to match it with jobs available.
The site is constantly updated with information regarding questions
from the Forum on REMIGRANT.ru. Many questions are about the proper
organisation of the resettlement, the proper documents, job
availability and about social, housing services and its support in
Russia. Furthermore, one finds questions about juridical issues.
Events
In December 2006, colleagues went to Kaluga and Lipetsk, both states
participating in the federal program of resettlement. For marketing
purposes, they met the state’s representative of this program. Results
were highly satisfying. Both, Kaluga nd Lipetsk were interested in
cooperating with REMIGRANT by developing a more transparent and
efficient flow of information. In addition, REMIGRANT gained another
inside in the actual progress and enforcement of the federal program in
federal states. These findings were published in the internet.
In addition, Remigrant met with Kaluga’s representative of the ministry
of employment. It was settled that both sides will emphasize the flow
of information about required work force and available jobs.
Staging and Difficulties
In general, it is the duty of the Russian federal program’s
representatives abroad to provide the target group with sufficient and
proper information. However, one can observe that we are the source of
information for many expatriates. REMIGRANT has created a sustainable
advantage by being the first NGO that provides information in Central
Europe. There is no risk, that Remigrant will loose its position, when
Russia’s official internet site has been created. Due to a fast
progress, modern information and flexibility, many German, Austrian and
Russian large companies are highly interested in co-operating with
REMIGRANT – as long as it is official acknowledged by the Russian
government.
We are constantly in the search of Russia’s acknowledgment;
nevertheless, we remain unheard. Whenever there is a success of being
heard, the co-operation is hindered by Russia’s tremendous bureaucracy.
Results
Since the creation of REMIGRANT.ru in November 2006, there have been
more than 30.000 visitors from different countries. We have received up
to 200 hundred letters stating and wishing for concrete information
about the resettlement to Russia. These letters came from Germany,
Austria, Kazakhstan, Israel, the USA and other countries with
expatriates residing in.
We have reached attention by radio stations as: “The German Wave”, “The
Russian Voice” and the TV channel “RTVi.” In addition, there were
several articles published in Germany and Russia newspapers and
magazines. The Robert-Bosch Institution has nominated REMIGRANT.ru for
the award “Deutsch-russisches Bürgerengagement 2007”. A German wide
highly recognised award, which will support the winners with capital.
Future Goals
The future lies in serving as many expatriates as possible, as precise
as possible. This includes outstanding relations and co-operation with
companies, organs in foreign countries and in Russian. It is to
mention, that REMIGRANT will do the utmost to facilitate the
resettlement for expatriates who whish to return.
We had reserved the REMIGRANT.eu domain to show that our project has
the intention to expand to other countries and therefore to serve more
people.
About us
We are students with law and economic backgrounds – educated in
Germany, Austria and the Netherlands that focus on Russian migration
issues. We see our future in Russia and believe that serving as a
mediator between two demanding sites, we can contribute to a high
benefit for both sides, which in total is a benefit for the Russian
Federation. We are doing the utmost to - and would appreciate any form
of support that would help - realize our project goals.
